History of the English League Cup
Having changed sponsors a few times over the years, the Carabao cup is also commonly known as the EFL cup or the League cup. Originally kicking off in the 1960-61 season and now open to 92 teams across 4 levels of the football league, the Carabao cup is one of only two annual football cup competitions in England. There are seven elimination rounds for most teams to bypass, as they hope to make their way to the final which is held at Wembley Stadium.
